What you’ll be doing
Summary:
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Customer Service Volunteers. As a Customer Service Volunteer, you will play a vital role ensuring positive experiences. You will assist clients, families and visitors with inquires, provide information, and support Unionville Home Society’s mission. This volunteer position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to our community and develop valuable customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a warm and friendly greeting to clients, families, and visitors.
- Direct families and visitors to the appropriate location or staff within Unionville Home Society.
- Engage with clients, families, staff , and visitors in a friendly professional manner, either in person or over the phone.
- Answer incoming phone calls, take messages, and transfer calls to the appropriate staff or department.
- Receive, sort and distribute mail and packages to clients
- Support Customer Service Coordinator, by performing tasks such as filing, photocopying, stocking, and other general office duties as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, ensuring it presents a professional and welcoming appearance

- Excellent communication skills
- Friendly and welcoming demeanor
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Responsible and dependable
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Ability to follow instructions with sound judgement, knowing when to seek help
Requirements:
- Attend interview and volunteer orientation.
- Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Check (if over the age of 18).
- Completion of a 2-step Mantoux (tuberculosis) test.
- 3 Doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- Volunteer consent form signed by parent/guardian if volunteer is under 18.
