This role will support the on-site laboratory in Rainbow Lake, Alberta. The student will have the opportunity to learn and master different testing techniques and analysis.

What you’ll do
- Complete laboratory testing techniques.
- Perform data analysis and create reports based on testing results.
- Troubleshoot testing equipment and instrumentation.
Who you are
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)
- Available to begin work in January, May, September 2025
- Experience working in a lab setting throughout student education.
We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
Education
- Must be enrolled in a Chemical or Petroleum Engineering Undergraduate or Technology Program or Chemical Laboratory Technology Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term
- Candidates enrolled in Science undergrad (Biology/Chemistry/Environmental) will be considered
- New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
Working Conditions
- May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc.
- This role would require relocation to Rainbow Lake, Alberta for the duration of the work term.
- Housing is provided in Rainbow Lake, however, this is not a camp-based position.
Safety Sensitive
- This may be a safety-sensitive role, and you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours. Furthermore, you will also be required to pass the pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.
- Safety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle, applicants are asked to provide a recent (i.e., issued within the previous 4 weeks) original driver is abstract, for the preceding 5-year period, if offered the position. A valid Canadian class 5 Driver’s License with no restrictions (i.e., non GDL) is a requirement for this role
