JOB SUMMARY

This job is exclusively for Coop Students who are enrolled in a recognized post-secondary co-operative education program.

The Chief Information Security Office is responsible for protecting the City of Ottawa’s sensitive information from unauthorized access and activities, and ensures the privacy and safety of critical data, such as customer account details, financial details, and all intellectual property.

You are responsible for assisting in providing security compliance and digital risk management services. This includes collecting and analyzing data to assist in producing various analytical reports, reviewing security policies and drafting documents, and working with various teams in finding patterns and anomalies to help improve security knowledge for the City staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Enrolment in a recognized post-secondary co-operative program in Business Administration or related field

No experience required; previous programming or policy research experience is desirable.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of digital security principles
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.
