Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Student Data Scientist Co-op to join our team. In this role, you will assist in developing and refining predictive models that enhance our solutions and drive business impact. Working closely with our experienced data scientists, you’ll analyze large datasets, explore data trends, and implement machine learning algorithms.

This position offers hands-on experience with real-world data science projects, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge to practical challenges. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable industry experience and make a meaningful impact. Contribute to state-of-the-art research and become a published co-author. Our team is carrying out research into knowledge graphs and developing embedding models that allow us to better identify people across complex and separate data sets. You will gain experience in developing models from scratch and contributing to the field with novel work.

The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with a strong foundation in statistics, programming, and data analysis, eager to learn and contribute to our innovative solutions.

Job Description

What will you do?

  • Research the current state of knowledge graph entity resolution solutions
  • Develop an appropriate embedding model for improving the accuracy of entity resolution
  • Document your literature review, methodology, and findings.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Have worked with Tensorflow
  • Have experience with Python
  • Have worked with big data
  • Able to perform scientific research

Nice-to-have

  • Able to replicate research from literature
  • Worked with Tensorflow and developed training loops from scratch
  • Have written a scientific research paper
  • Have worked with AWS Sagemaker.

Please note:

In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
