Our Business Intelligence team is looking for a Business Intelligence Intern for the winter 2025 session to support Business Intelligence Analysts and ETL Developers. If you join us, you will be called upon to analyze, enter data and document the work of others as well as your own.
Come learn, in an applied way, the workings of intelligence, through reports, data visualization, data preparation and transformation, etc.
Concretely, what will your days look like?
Data processing
- Perform validation of suspicious data and perform manual correction when erroneous ( e.g. a house sold for $99,999,999 or $100 );
- Collect different data files (csv, xls ) and prepare them for ingestion by the data warehouse;
- Conduct a preliminary study of new data sources;
- Experience a project to build a new data warehouse in a web-centric company ;
Reports ( reporting )
- Take charge of recurring reports under his/her leadership: ensure that they are published as planned, validate that the data balances and rectify bugs as needed;
- Participate in the report redesign project for migration to PowerBI ;
- List the reports used by the different sectors, their metrics and dimensions (we measure what, how, where? );
Analyse
- Carry out analyses to answer questions from internal customers (other sectors of the company );
Document
- Document the different terms used by the sectors in order to standardize the names (Data Glossary );
- Document the business rules, origin, location, names of the different data (data dictionary );
- Monitor best practices and tools on different aspects of business intelligence.
What do you need to be a Business Intelligence Intern with us?
- Studies in an appropriate discipline (Business Intelligence, IT, etc. );
- Experience with Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, etc. );
- Experience with PowerBI (asset );
- Familiar with JIRA (asset );
- Team player, solution-oriented;
- Have good listening skills;
- Be responsible, self-taught and autonomous;
- Having an attention to detail, to quality; coupled with a concern for effort/ benefit;
- Have good synthesis skills and good judgment.
