Rakuten Kobo Inc. is looking for a Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer Co-op to join our Technology Delivery team! The team is comprised of many highly talented enthusiastic individuals who ensure the services and offerings from Kobo are available to both internal and external customers.
Reporting to the Team Lead, Technology Delivery, the Software QA Engineer Co-op will work with the Technology Delivery Team made up of Developers and Testers and will take an active part in delivering high quality software to Rakuten Kobo’s users.
The Person:
- A passion for software development and delivery.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Have a desire to work in a team but also be self-organizing enough to be able to work on a task independently.
The Skillset:
Required:
- Some previous experience in and Object-Oriented Software Language such as C# or Java.
- An understanding of T-SQL Databases.
- Experience with web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS).
- Some knowledge/experience with modern UI frameworks e.g. Angular, React.
- Knowledge of using source control systems such as Git or TFS.
- Knowledge of software testing.
- Techniques: Dynamic – Unit, Integration etc.
- Static – Manual or Automatic (using some tool e.g. – Veracode, SonarQube).
- Tools: Visual Studio, NUnit, MSTest, Postman etc.
Nice to Haves:
- An understanding of server side web technologies such as Web Api and MVC
- Experience using an ORM framework (NHibernate, Entity Framework)
