What You’ll Do

The Fraud Strategy Student will be responsible for working automated reports to identify a variety of suspicious or anomalous activity across the customer spectrum, both from a transactional and account maintenance perspective, and taking appropriate action to protect our customers and our brand. Additionally, the Fraud Strategy Student will be expected to identify, and alert, more tenured team members of strategy deficiencies for timely loss mitigation.

  • Use a wide range of payment, account, and behavioral data
  • Develop and maintain fraud detection strategies within multiple detection platforms
  • Sustain fraud detection rates and false positives in line with business goals
  • Identify and respond to existing and emerging fraud trends
  • Stay current on fraud technology and industry trends related to credit cards, mobile wallets, and other consumer payment solutions
  • Liaise with and provide analytical support to Fraud Operations
  • Provide analytical support on investigations as needed

 

What you bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated superior analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
  • Previous programming experience (e.g. Python/SAS/R/SQL)
  • Strong proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Data visualization development using Tableau, or similar tooling, is an asset

 

Hybrid

We value flexibility. We have adopted a hybrid work model whereby employees use a combination of working in office and virtually in service of outcomes. Each leader is empowered to decide what work is best achieved in person based on the unique needs of their team. Applicants for this role must be available to work onsite in Oakville OR St. Catharines a minimum of two days per week.
