Job Summary

This position supports the Storm Water Utility and Geotechnical groups of the Engineering and Planning Section with engineering projects related to storm water infrastructure, drainage, and geotechnical work.

Duties & Responsibilities

1.    Coordinates the planning, design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects.
2.    Assists with the tendering process for capital projects, including preliminary documents, construction estimates, detailed design drawing preparations, material selections and specification reviews.
3.    Assists with engineering analysis and related engineering field work. Communicates with contractors, other civic departments and regulatory agencies to provide contract administration and ensure compliance with Civic and Provincial regulations.
4.    Reviews, and provides recommendations, relating to technical specifications, construction materials and methods of construction.
5.    Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Completion of three years’ university.
  • Experience in the Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical field preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence.
  • Knowledge of water and sewer infrastructure and hydraulic design.
  • Knowledge of environmental issues facing municipalities regarding storm water systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with civic staff, civic officials, representatives of other agencies and the public.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.

Weekly Hours: 36.67

Salary Range: $56,179.56 CAD per annum (2023 rates)
