The Business/Operations Analyst (Intern) is a unique opportunity for you to upgrade your Business education by spending four months working with experienced business professionals and world-class consultants. We are looking for an undergraduate student enrolled in a business program to join the team. In this role, you will support the business team to ensure it is at optimal efficiency through project assistance, client engagement assistance, optimizing the operating costs, and conducting business intelligence research. You will actively engage with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand problem areas and requirements. You would also be developing a career in consulting, helping clients with leading industrial technologies working on their operational improvements.
This is a 4-month intern position running from May to August.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the business team to help define goals, understand and analyze project requirements.
- Support consultants in developing reports, presentations, and other written communications
- Deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders.
- Support consultants with conducting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative research from online literature, administered surveys, interviews, or focus groups.
- Manage project administration with the client and internal team, e.g. scheduling meetings, distributing agendas and other documents, ensuring adequate technology setup, monitoring project budget.
- Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
- Managing, tracking, and analyzing business forecasts and actuals via regular dashboard reporting
- Identifying and implementing continuous process improvements, driving toward meaningful outcomes.
- Assisting application developers and technical support staff in identifying and resolving problems.
- Maintain a positive relationship with clients and support in brand-building activities, e.g. drafting reports.
- Be a key stakeholder and team member that plays a critical role in delivering services to our clients.
- Work with other business analysts to roll out process improvements.
- Work independently and as part of customer project teams.
Skills/ Requirements/Qualifications:
- Current student enrolled in the University’s Co-op program.
- Excellent database and SQL query knowledge.
- Data visualization and analysis experience using analytical tools and exemplary working knowledge of computer networks.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Project) tools.
- Leadership experience in a student society or other volunteer organization
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Demonstrate high standards of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent follow-up skills.
- Ability to learn and assimilate information quickly.
