The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven student interested in pursuing a career in Product Management to join us for a 4-month term (May to August 2024). As an Intern on H&R Block’s Products & Services team, you will gain experience in the tactical and strategic activities of product management of a diverse portfolio of both internal and external proprietary software applications.
This position is based in Calgary and offers a hybrid work schedule, with 3 days per week in-office.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Assisting Product Managers with the day-to-day activities of managing product development backlogs.
- Participating in cross-functional planning meetings and scrum ceremonies as required.
- Working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to help with product discovery activities, requirements gathering and other planning activities.
- Assisting the UX team with planning, execution, and analysis of user research projects.
- Analyzing product analytics to uncover user behaviour insights and making recommendations to inform product strategy and roadmaps development.
- Performing in-depth competitive research to help inform product strategy.
- Assisting with other miscellaneous Product Management, UX and copywriting tasks as requested.
Key Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years completed towards a post-secondary program in a relevant field. Completion of a Product Management (or similar) program or courses would be an asset.
- Organized, methodical and detail oriented.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to take direction from multiple leaders.
- A motivated high achiever, willing to roll up your sleeves to help where needed and be comfortable with ambiguity.
- An analytical and a good critical thinker, with the confidence to share your insights and ideas.
- Open to accepting and implementing constructive feedback.
- Prior experience working with software products an asset but not required.
- Prior experience working with financial services an asset but not required.
