1 temporary full-time position for 4 months intended specifically for students currently enrolled in a marketing, finance, real estate, law, business  or related co-op or equivalent post-secondary work experience degree program, commencing in September 2024

The Real Estate Branch combines real estate and land development expertise to create integration across a diverse portfolio of the City’s inventory of real estate (land, buildings, and facilities). We provide expert real estate services to the corporation and integrate multiple corporate interests so that Council can achieve its vision.The City of Edmonton’s Property Transactions section is a part of the Real Estate Branch. Functionally, the Property Transactions  team consists of real estate professionals that acquire, sell, and lease real property for the City of Edmonton. The leasing and sales teams, lease and dispose of developed and surplus City properties in accordance with Council initiatives. Our teams contribute to City revenues through projects that increase the tax base, create greater economic activity and provide more focused community investments.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the maintenance of section spreadsheets to track acquisition and sales activities
  • Assist with marketing activities for City of Edmonton properties for sale and lease
  • Assist in the preparation of various documents for review by senior staff
  • Update POSSE records for property agents
  • Assist with filing activities for property transactions staff
  • Creation of materials to enhance the property transactions’ web presence
  • Compile information/data on sales and acquisition activities for various purposes
  • Learn about real estate acquisition, leasing, and sales process
  • Additional related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Currently attending a business, marketing, finance, real estate, law or related post-secondary degree program

Assets

  • Familiarity with real estate
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace applications
  • Experience in data management and spreadsheet creation
  • Experience using POSSE
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence (or provincial equivalent)

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 

The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.

Salary: $17.954- $19.749 (Hourly)
