Currently a candidate for a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering or Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related field with an accredited school in Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of our team, you will:

  • Support development initiatives for the Advanced Optics Team in Ottawa focused on the design, development, and testing of optical transceiver modules for PON networks.
  • Perform characterization testing and analysis of optical PON modules.
  • Assist optical designers and development engineers with the testing of pluggable optical modules and analysis of test results.
  • Drive operation of optical test equipment, automation of test setups, and post-processing and analysis of test results.

REQUIRED SKILLS

You have:

  • Are familiar with programmatic design principles and experience programming in MATLAB, Python, and/or C.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

It would be nice if you also had:

  •  Experience using electronic and optical test equipment: BERT, OSA, DCA, Network Analyzer, high-speed scope, etc.
