Job Purpose
SECURE’s Business Intelligence team seeks a Business Intelligence Intern for a 12 – 16-month internship opportunity to help drive innovation and fact-based decision-making across the organization. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
• Review data sets and translate these insights to business value.
• Apply analytics to find answers to questions.
• Work with internal customers at all levels of the organization to understand business requirements and implement analytical solutions.
• Responsible for problem-solving and brainstorming the best way to design and develop unique solutions to solve our customer’s challenges.
Qualifications/Competencies
The individual in this role will have:
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution with a related major such as: computer science, engineering, business management or information technology.
• Some exposure and working experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI etc.
• some exposure and even some technical proficiency in the use of programming languages like SQL/Python / R.
• Ability to present complex analytics ideas to a business-focused audience.
• Ability to comprehensively understand data elements, sources, and relationships.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Ability to operate comfortably and effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Proven collaboration skills.
The Following Would Be An Asset In This Role
• Some foundational knowledge of business intelligence is an asset.
• strong interest in learning more about business intelligence and how it relates to the driving value in an organization.
