Job Description
• Review elements of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System and provide input where needed;
• Conducts period site safety inspections/audits
• Routine data entry and maintenance of various safety databases;
• Maintenance of various spreadsheets, data analysis and reporting (e.g., hazard assessments, annual safety statistics/trends, etc.);
• Reconciling of multiple data sources to ensure consistency and data integrity;
• Collect and filing of electronic and paper safety documents (e.g., training cards, risk assessments, etc.);
• Take accurate minutes in meetings (e.g., JHSC meetings, Health & Safety department meetings, etc.);
• Maintain and distribute safety communications (e.g., Health and Safety Newsletters, Safety talks, etc.);
• Route incoming and outgoing communication to appropriate parties;
• Assist with projects, events and development of reports and presentations as it relates to health and safety;
• Provide new worker safety orientations on Guild’s Health and Safety policies and procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS);
• Ad hoc support to the HSE department with other admin duties/tasks including onboarding new employees;
• Support Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) audit activities;
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Working at heights, WHMIS 2015, and MOL Worker Health and Safety Awareness (preferred)
• We are looking for driven, energetic and creative people who are currently enrolled in a undergraduate Occupational Health and Safety program
• Working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, and applicable regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency with all Microsoft applications (i.e., word, excel, powerpoint)
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and organize multiple priorities.
• Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities
