Fort McMurray – Base Plant

Minimum Requirements:
- Enrolled in a graduate program in a process control specialization
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
Responsibilities:
- Maintain of a subset of our APC install base, including performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and updates to models and control strategies
- Support the execution of Advanced Process Control projects, including feasibility studies, designing, risk assessments, step testing, modelling, application commissioning, benefit assessment, operator training, documentation and turnover
- Collaborate within the APC team to improve overall APC maturity, including updates to APC standards and guidelines as well as the Suncor’s APC roadmaps
- Build strong relationships with key customers and suppliers including operations, process engineering, control systems teams, vendors and contractors in order to advance APC opportunities
- Support the APC team with both routine and on-demand tasks such as stewardship reporting, data analysis, inferential modelling, etc.
Location and other Key Details:
- You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Albert
- This is an 8-month term commitment beginning in August 2025. You will be asked to indicate your availability in your application
- Relocation support will be provided if required
