What is the opportunity?
As Analyst, Product Control you will support the database and all the source and output reports that drive the foundation of the daily P&L reporting process. The Analyst will also provide both tactical and strategic coding changes to support various End User Computing solutions. The Analyst will provide ad hoc support to the TS PC Managers in a variety of time-sensitive problem solving situations. There will also be exposure to the TS Trading Desk, the primary clients of TS PC.
Job Description
What will you do?
- Run the Access database daily and troubleshoot breaks and errors in the context of daily deadlines
- Provide coding solutions to time-sensitive daily roadblocks as well as strategic improvements to how critical files are coded and structured.
- Assist in the reporting of Daily results as required. Compare P&L Estimate vs. Actual results – investigate variances and escalate to Managers as required
- Ensure that all daily PnL submitted by the Managers are signed-off daily by the Front Office in a timely fashion. Escalate any issues to Managers and the Associate Director.
- Assist in preparing reports to meet ad-hoc requests as necessary for business partners
- Prepare and update all daily and monthly procedure manuals and documentation. Obtain a sign-off upon review by the Manager.
- Work closely with all members of the Product Finance team through cross-training.
- Understand and troubleshoot daily PNL and Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure figures are properly tied back to the systems of records, for backup in the absence of Managers
- Develop a solid knowledge base of how various derivative products are handled by various source systems
- Assist Managers with audit requests from both internal and external auditors
- Make an impact that goes beyond the current term of the position

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Currently in a registered co-op program at a post-secondary institution
- Computer Science & Finance combination courses
- Excellent Excel Skills (macros is an asset)
- Going into your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th work term
- Accounting knowledge or experience
Nice-to-have
- An understanding of derivatives products
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work effectively and reliably under pressure
