Major Accountabilities

 

1. Provide administrative support and a high level of non-trade client service by:

  • Processing client account documentation
  • Maintaining client files and information on the appropriate systems
  • Opening new accounts and processing new account documentation
  • Processing account transfer documentation and follow up to ensure receipt
  • Following up on outstanding documentation for restricted accounts
  • Assisting in writing and processing client letters
  • Ensuring all client interaction is accurately documented
  • Acting as receptionist by answering phones and greeting clients
  • Arranging client meetings, preparing printed materials and handling schedule changes
  • Following up on client meetings and entering notes in contact management system

 

2. Develop and strength prospecting relationships by:

  • Creating, building and maintaining prospect database and profile in the Client Management System
  • Building new relationships via client referrals, lead lists, cold calling, etc. to add to existing prospect list
  • Developing and delivering business development campaigns and a regular contact program (calls, mail outs, seminar/webinar invitations, etc.)
  • Assisting in writing and processing clients’/prospects letters and proposals
  • Preparing or supporting in the preparation of marketing material such as brochures, direct mail initiatives, newsletters etc.
  • Tracking and reporting of prospect list and associated campaign(s)
  • Drafting and maintaining the Advisor team’s Value Proposition, Team Biographies and Service Commitment

 

3. Contribute to the effective functioning of the branch team by:

  • Building effective working relationships across the team and with various business line and corporate function contacts
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Facilitating a culture of open and honest communication
  • Actively participating and contributing to touch base and team meetings
  • Encouraging the generation of new ideas and approaches
  • Actively sharing knowledge and experience to enhance the development of all team members
  • Developing and executing a meaningful employee development plan

 

Education/Work Experience/Designations

 

  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize
  • Must exhibit strong Excel skills and have knowledge of Microsoft systems: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Extremely proactive, and demonstrates a high degree of perseverance
  • Must work well independently and within a team setting
  • Self-motivated; driven to exceed established goals
  • Experience in a sales, relationship or account management role
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills English and French.

 

Pursuant to a language needs assessment conducted by Scotiabank, the successful candidate will be required to be able to communicate in English in addition to French because they will be required to work closely with other groups from head office who operate primarily in English and they will serve and English-speaking clientele frequently.
