Risk and Regulatory Initiatives of RBC Royal Trust is a head office team of highly skilled estate and trust professionals. We contribute to the overall success and efficiency of the business by conducting oversight of regulatory and risk related matters and initiatives. Examples of activities we are involved in are risk monitoring and reporting, policy management, anti-money laundering and privacy advice, and operational risk related matters.

Job Description

What will you do?

You will join the RBC Royal Trust Risk and Regulatory Initiatives team to work with throughout the fall.  While day to day responsibilities will vary during the term, main responsibilities include:

  • Key support to the standardized risk reporting project to ensure reports completeness, accuracy, and clarity. Assistance will be provided in:
    • Compiling, standardizing and streamlining data;
    • performing in-depth data analysis for trends and patterns; and
    • enhanced data visualization.
  • Assist with a record retention assignment to ensure appropriate recording keeping practices are maintained for historical files.
  • Assist with other risk and regulatory projects that require analytical, research, and problem solving skills.
  • Contributing to the overall success of the RBC Royal Trust business by providing support to the other head office teams with various initiatives, as assigned.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Working towards a Bachelor degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, CFA, or other related field
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail and very high level of accuracy
  • Strong personal skills and the ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment

Nice-to-have

  • Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience working with a Financial Institution

Please note:

In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
