Your Opportunity:

Students who have completed their 1st year or 2nd year… Duties will be predominately related to the safe distribution of drugs within a hospital. Specific tasks may include packaging, labeling and filling orders within the hospital dispensary. Additional duties may include project work (i.e. nursing education, group education, patient education, updating Zone-wide policies and procedures, etc.). You will be part of a pharmacy team comprised of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants. Students who have completed their 3rd year… Duties are primarily clinically focused, with a minimal role in drug distribution. With some of the positions available, an emphasis will be placed on direct patient care activities such as patient counseling, medication histories, allergy assessments and the provision of drug information. Other available positions for 3rd years will emphasize practice-based research and clinical project work. Work shifts will generally be scheduled Monday to Friday during the day, with no anticipated evening or weekend responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:Completion of 2nd year of training in a formal pharmacy degree program Licensed intern with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) Fluent in English (written and verbal) Accurate, reliable, precise, cooperative, able to demonstrate effective service attitude, and self-motivated Able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:Hospital experience is not required, although some exposure to hospitals and hospital pharmacy is an asset Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word and pharmacy software an asset Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills desired Excellent organizational, problem-solving and decision-making ability desired.
