Please note: This posting is for a 8-12 month 2024 Student placement with a start date of September 2024, and end date of April/August 2025. In order to be eligible for this Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April/August 2025; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April/August 2025), you must require the full 8-12 month work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?

RBC InvestEase is an online “robo-advisor” investment management service that offers clients access to professionally-managed portfolios of low-cost ETFs.  As an intern, you will be intimately involved with many aspects of the business from operations to service delivery and product management. The interns work with our partners in Canadian Wealth Management Operations to ensure timely opening and managing of client applications and transactions. You will also assist in troubleshooting and resolving client and technical issues as they come up and be responsible for preparing critical business reports for senior management.

The role provides an opportunity for candidates to get involved with multiple aspects of the business in a small, empowered team of highly specialized professionals; the candidates can look forward to shaping of the future of this business as we are always exploring new ways to accelerate growth and profitability.

What will you do?

  • Monitor and manage the RBC InvestEase workbasket of cases (new accounts, transfers, and inquiries)
  • Ensure accurate account set up between systems as needed
  • Prepare and distribute critical business reports
  • Participate in resolving enquiries
  • Collaborate with the broader RBC InvestEase team (including Operations, Strategy & Product Management, Marketing and the Investment Advice Team) to provide feedback and insights to help inform strategic direction, improve service delivery, sales and overall client experience
  • Manage tasks and/or activities delegated by the Sr. Manager, Operations and/or InvestEase Senior Management Team

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • Interest for the investment industry
  • Professional oral and written communication skills (English language)
  • Strong client focus and proven experience in customer service role
  • Strong computer literacy with emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong personal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Well organized and able to set priorities and resulting in high performance under pressure, meeting time sensitive deadlines and being able to work on multiple projects

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in financial services
  • Working knowledge of French language
