Job Description

As a Business Transformation Analyst within RBC Capital Market’s Business Transformation & Governance (BT&G) group, you will support RBC’s regulatory and transformational projects across multiple Business and IT teams in RBC.

For this role, we are looking for an eager and high performing individual to work closely with the Portfolio Governance and Analytics team to assist in advancing the Business Transformation group’s project leadership practices while maintaining a flawless control environment. Extensive interactions across Business, IT, and functional groups will make this a valuable learning opportunity for any student interested in the implementation of cross-functional programs across Capital Markets.

What will you do?

Working under the direction of the Governance Lead, you will support them by:

  • Providing robust governance and financial risk oversight over a portfolio of regulatory projects
  • Developing relationships and coordinating with Project Managers across the US, Canada, UK, and APAC regions.
    • Potential opportunity to support Project Managers with project delivery
  • Analyzing project and portfolio data, develop metrics & benchmarks, and provide insightful and accurate reporting to support management decisions.
  • Assisting in testing of new tools, completion of templates, and creating/developing dashboards
  • Creating and maintaining meeting materials, reports, and status updates
  • Contributing ideas and concerns, and escalating issues for resolution

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Currently attending a post-secondary institution (currently studying Finance/Accounting/Business, or Data Analytics considered an asset)
  • General knowledge of Financial Services industry.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to interact effectively with project managers, team members and senior business stakeholders
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of financial data
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, and advanced level Excel capabilities (Macros, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas).
  • SharePoint usage and development (ie: experience working with SharePoint lists)

Nice-to-have

  • Capital Markets product and regulatory knowledge would be an asset
  • Experience using and creating dashboards in Tableau considered an asset
