The University of Saskatchewan is currently inviting applicants to apply for the graduate opportunity at the Department of Nutrition (The Cochrane Laboratory).
The project aims to investigate the impact of feeding HIV-infected breast milk to babies. It seeks alternative from the use of donated breastmilk as a way to give babies the benefits of breastmilk without the risk of passing on HIV.
In this study, the lab will invite pregnant people living with HIV and caregivers of HIV-exposed infants to participate in a focus group or semi-structured private interview to understand how they feel about providing donated breastmilk to their babies.
Eligibility Requirements for University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship
To be considered for the University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- A cumulative weighted average from your undergraduate degree of at least 80%
- Knowledge related to HIV/AIDS, infant nutrition, and donor human milk, and experience
working with Indigenous communities - Qualitative research experience, including experience conducting focus groups, private
interviews, and thematic analysis, is an asset (but not a requirement) - Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong writen and verbal communication skills
