The Regulated Road Use Team is an integral part of the Parks and Roads Services Branch of City Operations. Regulated Road Use supports Traffic Operations by reviewing and approving permits related to third party use of the City’s Road Right of Way. This position is an exciting opportunity to use your Engineering Technologist skills!

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Review and administer permits related to On-Street Construction and Maintenance (OSCAM) permits, moving permits, over-dimensional permits or other related permits
  • Support with reviewing Utility Line Assignment (ULA) circulations and provide responses to stakeholders
  • Review guidelines, documents and provide responses related to  the Utility Cut and Restoration Program
  • Support with administrative duties for the Regulated Road Use team
  • Support administration and technical duties of on-street programs for the use of road right of way, including and not limited to the patio program, on-street outdoor market program and boulevard gardening program

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment full-time at a post-secondary institution, in a Civil Engineering Technology diploma or related program

Assets

  • Experience using Google Workspace applications or equivalent applications
  • Experience reviewing application forms based on technical guidelines
  • Experience writing technical responses
  • Experience working with customers or other external stakeholders
  • Experience with POSSE

Conditions of Employment:

  • As part of your application, we ask that you attach an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification letter (indicating you are enrolled in a related post-secondary program). Talent sourced through this process may be considered for similar opportunities within the City
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license (or provincial equivalent) or ability to arrange own transportation to get to project sites. Applicant may be required to obtain business use auto insurance

Additional Details:

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 

Salary Range: $17.954 – $19.749 (Hourly)
