Duties & Responsibilities

1.    Qualified individuals hired for a student Planning Internship will undertake and assist with planning-related activities pertaining to community planning, land use research, data and information collection, mapping, report preparation, safety initiatives, license reviews, site inspections, community consultation and other related duties as required.
2.    The proposed positions will provide practical planning experience in one or more of the following areas:
•    Research, program and policy development.
•    Demographic analysis and database management.
•    Geographic Information Systems.
•    Community planning.
•    Bylaw administration and enforcement.
•    Community consultation.

Qualifications

•    Completion of two years’ university with current enrollment in a Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) recognized planning program, or a related field of study.
•    Knowledge and experience working with various standard Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Access.
•    Experience with POSSE database applications would be an asset
•    Effective written and oral communication skills.
•    Ability to work both independently and as a team member, using solid analytical and organizational skills.

Additional Requirements

Evening and weekend work may be involved.

Weekly Hours: 36.67

Salary Range: $21.63 to $23.85 CAD per hour (2023 rates)
