Position: Commercial Manager-Trainee Intern, ADM-Agri Industries

Job Description: Initially this candidate will be trained to handle the responsibilities of the Commercial Manager in a wheat flour facility. The role and responsibility of the Commercial Manager encompasses many areas.

The Commercial Manager is responsible for maximizing profits through management of grain procurement product sales and customer service and is responsible for Profit and Loss reporting. The Commercial Manager oversees the acquisition of grain for processing and develops the most economical blends to meet customer flour specifications. They are involved with pricing and selling finished products and provide direction in the sale of by-products. The Commercial Manager is required to develop and maintain relationships with the current customer base. They actively participate in the plant and food safety initiatives as well as manage the site transportation. The Commercial Manager works towards implementing and assisting in cost control and cost saving measures and is required to communicate and report plant issues to corporate management.

The candidate: A highly motivated and competitive candidate is ideal for this position. The successful candidate must be a dedicated individual with strong interpersonal skills, be a clear communicator with plant workers, peers and upper management. The successful candidate must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge & Skills: University degree in agriculture, business administration or economics is required. Demonstrate capacity to excel in a fast paced work environment. Ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in decision making. Demonstrate negotiation and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the domestic & international trade. Ability to manage effectively within a team based work environment. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers. Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database and word processing software applications within a windows based operating environment.
